The Island of Batz: The guardian of the open sea
You can't talk about Roscoff without mentioning the Île de Batz, located just a 15-minute ferry ride away. Separated from the mainland by a narrow channel, the island acts as a natural barrier against storms.
A true haven of peace, almost entirely car-free, Batz is a floating garden. Thanks to the microclimate created by the Gulf Stream, early vegetables are grown here, and visitors can explore the magnificent Georges Delaselle Garden. Climbing to the top of its lighthouse offers the most beautiful panoramic view of the entire Roscoff coast.
